Chocolate Pancakes Recipe


  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tablespoons butter melted
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • Additional toppings: berries bananas, Nutella, peanut butter, powdered sugar or whipped cream


  1. In a small bowl, combine milk, egg, butter, and vanilla. Whisk to combine.
  2. In a separate bowl, combine flour, cocoa powder, sugar, baking soda, and salt. Whisk to combine.
  3. Add milk mixture to flour mixture, and whisk until just combined. Lumps are okay.
  4. Heat griddle or skillet over medium heat until hot.
  5. For each pancake, pour about 1/4 cup batter onto hot griddle or skillet.
  6. Cook 1-2 minutes or until batter is set around edges and bubbles form on top in the center.
  7. Carefully turn over pancake; cook 1-2 minutes or until pancakes are cooked through.
  8. Repeat with remaining batter.
  9. Serve warm with desired toppings
